Parametric study of design parameters and thermal comfort in primary schools in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Overheating of premises is a typical thermal discomfort issue in naturally ventilated primary schools Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Several design parameters were shown to affect the indoor environment. A parametric study was conducted and based on several building performance simulations investigate influences individual air temperatures prevalence overheating schools. The sensitivity analysis indicated that material envelopes, openings, solar controls, descending order, affected occurrence. findings could assist architect choosing which should be prioritised stage, particularly useful renovation retrofit projects.
